This tutorial was written using JASC PSP version 8.01 and assumes you have a working knowledge of the program at an intermediate level.

This tutorial can easily be adapted to JASC PSP V7.

Tools needed for this tutorial are as follows.

JASC Paint Shop Pro Version 8.01 .Download a 30 day free trial version or purchase here.

This image or a image of your own.

Step 1

Open up your image in PSP. Duplicate it and then close the original.

Step 2

Go to Image> increase color depth> 16 million colors. If this option is grayed out, that means your image is already set to 16 million colors and it is ready to use.

Step 3

Add a new layer. Layers> new raster layer. Now on your layer pallet, change the blend mode from "normal" to "color". To do this, click on the little black arrow.

Step 4

Now choose a color from your color pallet that you want to use on your image. Click on your paint brush tool and use these settings.

Now start coloring your line art. Cool huh?

**Important Note**

In experimenting  with different line art images, I found that if you come across one that does not work by changing the blend mode to color, try changing it to "lighten" and it should work fine.

I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial.
